HALIM KARABIBENE, ABDUL RAZZAK SHABALLOUT und LARA ZEYAD

HALIM KARABIBENE

Born in Tunisia, Halim Karabibene throughout his career has formally explored an alternative universe, one that is hybrid and playfully “staged” with a whole range of mythical neo pop characters. Since 2007, Karabibene has been pursuing a multidisciplinary performance in which he has been encouraging public authorities to inaugurate Tunisia’s first National Museum of Modern and contemporary Art (MNAMC). With a pressure cooker as symbol and form of the future Museum, Karabibene uses social networks, events and exhibitions to effectively launch this pseudo fictional museum until it sees the light.

ABDUL RAZZAK SHABALLOUT

Born in Syria, he studied at the fine Art University in Damaskus, worked as graphic designer and art director. In 2011 he quits his previous life and listened to the wind of change, started to work on hyperrealistic paintings. „Still life on canvas reflects gratitude to the brightness of everyday details from back home, things the viewer may not stop to think of, but slowly brings together light, color, darkness and nostalgia.“

LARA ZEYAD

Lara Zeyad is a palestinian artist and architects. Her work moves from installations, collages, land-art projects to videos and photography. Many of her projects are related to the identity, the politicization of the female body and her cultural backgrounds and roots.
